Verne Jenkins
On Wednesday, Dec. 26th ( he worked as a security guard at Sapp Bros). Verne was escorting a man out of the store that was being verbally abusive to another employee. They got into an argument, and the man pulled out a gun and shot him.
I have known Verne for about 2 yrs, and I wanted to put him on my blog so that everyone could read about my friend.
He had a big heart, almost as big as that smile. He was always so happy, and had the best laugh, It was sooo loud, (louder than mine!) He always thought of others before himself. He always called me to tell me good morning when he didn't see me at work, and when it snowed, he always called me after I left work late at night to see if I made it home ok. He even sent me a text a few minutes before this incident to ask me how my Christmas was. And I am so very sad that I never got to hear how his Christmas was. He was a great friend to everyone, and he made work alot more fun. It is a terrible thing to lose anyone, especially this way. I feel deeply sorry for his family and his little son he left behind. He will be greatly missed, and we will always remember him.
We all loved him very much!

Um, I feel a little weird about this whole Verne thing. Aunt Sherrie said she saw it on the news ad was wondering about you. Anyhoo, it seems like you and Verne were closer than I imagined. Or maybe he was borderline stalker??????
That is sooo sad! He sounds like such a great guy. Hope you are doing ok.
